I have finally managed to get 11.04 installed in dual boot with windows. 
I had to use the alternative text based installer with apci=off. This 
allowed for video to come up correctly as well as wireless. I still have 
no touchpad and the nvidia I have not loaded yet as it seems to want to 
break each time I try. I have posted request with ubuntu on launchpad 
for each issue and am awaiting responses.
