yeah it makes sense from a few points of view..
as MPT already pointed out months ago in one or more related threads
and also recently in "persistent awareness", it is still not clear
what exact advantage an indicator menu would have over a classic
window here..

i'm personally convinced that indicating something symbolically before
exposing it in a detailed (windowed) view makes a good gradient from
unawareness to detailed awareness, a kind of interpolation between
these two states of awareness.

to specify the details of this assumption could become part of this
thread, if you like..
