Re: [Ayatana] installation

MPT I'm curious if that also appies to this:

https://lists.launchpad.net/ayatana/msg03898.html

Sorry my quotation marks resulted in poor quality there.

But you can see that did indicate I was in the right place.

Please understand that I'm only an end user with no tech skills, but I think I've proven to be a very good iso tester. I at least hope so.

There are however a number of design issues with the new ubiquity.  I narrowed my focus to only the issue of being offered confusing options during a side-by-side install, but I've also seen many people lament the loss of the option to install to the largest continuous free space, and a few other things.

Rather than go into more detail here ATM I first want to know where best to discuss this. This is not only a first time Ubuntu user experience thing, I've also seen some long time users lament some loss of functions with the new ubiquity so I believe this deserves some serious (and sadly lengthy) discussion between devs and end users.

You can make selections like that with the alternate installer.
<http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/alternative-download>

Including the alternate installer on the live CD would take up space
that could be used by more useful things.

Anyway, issues like that are better discussed on the ubuntu-installer@
mailing list.
