The current test image is still deb based and meant for enabling the
hardware with arm64 and systemd on xenial. Its not recommended and in fact
is really an interim step only.

Snaps will not run there or on the prior images, as snapd cannot be
supported there, at least not easily. We are sill working toward enabling a
snap core based image.

Hi,

I happened to give the "staging" channel a try few days ago. It is based
on xenial, but I couldn't tell if the apps where snap or click. It looks
nice, though, with some nice UI improvements & features. However, as it was really unstable (it didn't even accept keyboard input in the address bar of
the web browser, or in the password settings dialog), I switched back to
rc-proposed, soon.

Andreas

Hi,

If I remember well, the channel on which the experiments for the M10 are
ongoing is named "staging". The "devel" channel was REALLY outdated last
time I tried (last image was from 2016-04 pre-xenial-release).

Let us know what you find and how it goes!

Best Regards,
Felipe.

Hi,

I believe there's a devel or devel-proposed channel for M10 which already
has xenial. Not sure if it has snaps though.

Are there any snap images for the M10 out yet - even unstable? Keen to
try it and see where development is going.
