Take away for AA from Scrum
Hi *,
I would like to start with scrum methodology. In this model, the feature
list of the product is listed as product backlogs. And the product
development cycle is split as Sprints (conventionally a period of 4-6
weeks). The developers choose a logical set of product backlogs at their
convenience during a scrum review meeting for the first sprint. And they
finish the features during the particular sprint. The idea of the sprint is
to get the product features in a shape that they can be tested and bugs
reported then and there. The feature for which the deadlines spill over are
considered product backlogs for the subsequent sprint.
We can split our product features into logical backlogs and developers can
take a feature & own it. Also, there is a concept of daily scrum meeting in
which the developers can put their hands up if they are stuck and need help.
There are additional parameters that are monitored (like product burn out
chart, developer time allocation for a specific feature). Since we lack the
machinery, i am not discussing the same in this mail.
I think adopting this model won't be so tough. And we have to decide on peer
reviewers too.
Cheers,
pbs
