IMHO, it's better to use a standalone PDF viewer like evince.

Bug description:
Please include Adobe Reader Asian font packs with Ubuntu acroread package,
to enable viewing of some Asian PDF documents.
As of acroread/9.5.4-1quantal1, those fontpacks are still not
included.
The font packs can be downloaded from here: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.1/misc/

Cannot read Chinese font in Adobe Reader 9
As title, I cannot read the Chinese font in Adobe Reader 9 which
you've just published to the software center. I've removed the older
version Reader 8, although it can support this function. The Adobe
website seems not to open the Asian font support for this version yet.
Please help deal with this issue.
