1. The command with libtiff4 should not be necessary on your system
because you have not got the error message "dependency not satisfied..."

2. It seems that you made some typo error during these attempts (the
command ":" was not found!), but that does not matter

3. What do you get when you execute the command
scangearmp

4. Maybe you should reboot your computer once to make sure that all
initializations for the new package have correctly run.
