This looks like a nice cherry pick for Trusty, but for anyone that wants
this fix immediately, the Clementine PPA is probably the fastest option:

  Searching the library is extremely slow

Status in “clementine” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Searching within the library from the text search box takes tens of
  seconds, where with previous versions (in 12.04) it was almost
  instant.

  Seems to be a change in sqlite has brought this about.  The workaround
