Status in “language-selector” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: language-selector

  the default terminal gnome-terminal which is using vte is not able to
  display RTL text like Arabic,Farsi, Urdu or  Hebrew and it's a known
  bug that is not likly to be fixed at all as vte developer said. see
  bug #263822

  How ever Mlterm is ready to support variant of scripts including Arabic ,Hebrew and even Chinese.
