Hello,

I am also having this problem on a UL30A-X5 (intel 4500MHD).  Running
kernel version 2.6.32-19-generic.  

As described by others, the flickering seems totally random.  If it
weren't for this list, I would have assumed it was a hardware problem.
A loose wire or something. 

Can others confirm that it's definitely a kernel problem?  I'm trying to
decide if I should exchange the laptop for another.
