I'm running Kubuntu 15.10 and also here Audio Recorder doesn't start at
all the recording even when directly clicking "start recording". No
errors are shown.

  Estamos ejecutando Audio Recorder sobre MediosLibres GNU/Linux
  (Shamatari), una Distro venezolana para medios de comunicación, basada
  en Ubuntu Studio 12.04.  Frecuentemente la aplicación no inicia la
  grabación a la hora programada.

  We are running Audio Recorder on MediosLibres GNU / Linux (Shamatari),
  a Venezuelan Distro for media, based on Ubuntu Studio 12.04. Often the
  application will not start recording at the scheduled time.
