The difference is that in Unity the arrows are lined up against the
tiles not the icons. So the tiles effectively create the space. What
happens when we have the arrows lined up against icons is that we get
inconsistent looks based on the shape of the icon. Those that are
square and go to the edge (liferea) it looks like it's over lapping
while those that are round (chat) it looks like there's space. Overall,
this just makes it look like we don't have a plan.
