Great work, thanks! There are a lot of nice improvements in this change. As for the payment mode type, removing its value in the XML declaration is the correct solution, indeed.

Looks like the recent integration with Launchpad translations caused a couple of conflicts, as Stéphane noticed already. Did you try and correct these in revision 209? If that is the case, it may be necessary to resolve these at merge time.
