As a side note, Birdie should probably know the difference between being
unable to connect to Twitter and the device not being connected to the
internet. I believe that there was a recent change to Glib that allows
for checking if there is an active internet connection.

Bug description:
  If I'm not connected to the internet, Birdie crashes. Instead it
  should simply alert me that I'm not connected to the internet and it
  will be unable to fetch or publish tweets.
