[Bug 1164270] Re: Use document font
+1 for me too. Also, it's more logical I think. ;-)
Many consecutive tweets can be considered as "a document", like reading a .doc.
So, a suitable font adapted to read a lot is logical I would say.
I like to use a font-size of 10 for "default font", but 9 for "document font".
Therefore, here, font in Birdie looks too big IMHO (10 used rather than 9 so), especially the Name of the person who tweeted (as always a little bit more large than the tweet itself regarding the font-size).
Also, we often don't use the same font-family for document font (more
suitable for the long read) than the rest.

Title:
Use document font
Status in Birdie:
Triaged
Bug description:
Currently, it looks like Birdie uses the default platform UI font. On
elementary, this is Droid Sans. While this is fine for normal UI
elements (buttons, menus, etc.) with shorter text, it's not the best
for longer messages like tweets. Additionally, it doesn't have
multiple weights to play with nor does it have a true italic.
Instead, we should either use the platform ocument font (Open Sans on
elementary), or something a little prettier. The new Twitter app on
Android actually uses a much lighter weight typeface which looks super
slick, so perhaps we could look into that.
