Solus is not using the appindicator - so you can always remove that
applet and then the application will behave the same way - i.e. display
in the system tray.

code-patches always welcome to rescale images for the appindicator.

  Hi, i use a Synology NAS with the Cloud Station Drive app and the tray
  icon is huge. In elementary OS is the Cloud Station icon normal.
