[Bug 1717642] Re: Switching display scale does not work correctly
It's the same when Live image is booted from USB.
When I pick scale 200% and hit Apply, the UI size stays the same and it flips the selection back to 100% (that moment on attached screenshot).
Oddly enough, if I don't confirm it in time, it will "revert" and for some reason make it 200% then.
But, as I said before, it looks like it also doesn't save the scale anywhere and it will forget it after reboot.

Title:
Switching display scale does not work correctly
Status in Ubuntu Budgie:
New
Bug description:
I'm on Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 Beta 1, running in a VirtualBox on a retina MBPr.
I enabled "Unscaled HiDpi Output" in VirtualBox->Display settings (scale factor at 100%) so I'm sending full resolution to the VM. That's the only setting that worked for me to get real HiDpi support.
So now I wanted to bump the scale in Budgie Display settings from 100%
to 200% at the 3360x2100 resolution to get a reasonably sized UI
elements. But when I apply the change, it reverts back to 100%. Then,
if I try again to make it 200%, it works but it looks like that change
is not saved and reverts back to 100% after reboot (while still
showing 200% as the currently selected toggle - super confusing).
Please fix, if possible.
