Title:
Screencast recorded via Kazam's default settings can't be viewed via
Gnome MPV, but plays fine via VLC
Status in gnome-mpv package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
- As seen in yesterday's daily build of UB 18.04 32-bit, with updates
applied today.
See attached screencast. The actual content of the screencast is not
the issue in this bug report (I've logged a separate bug report for
that). Rather, it's that the files from any popular screencast tool
should work with any media player, especially a media player bundled
as default with a distro.
When I try to open the attached mp4 video in Gnome MPV, the window
decorations appear for Gnome MPV, but the video never actually plays.
Even trying to close Gnome MPV then takes a long while, with a message
appearing to force quit the application.
At a guess, I'd say the root issue is with Gnome MPV, rather than
Kazam.
Thanks,
Ken.
