Re: [Bug 1901962] Re: There’s a bug that causes artifact to build up on panel icons over time, causing them to become illegible. The bug has been in evidence since I started using Ubuntu Budgie in 18.04 and has persisted in 20.04.
You asked me to submit the bug through the command line in the user forum.
I did as requested as soon as I saw the message. This isn't a new issue.
This is only follow-up from the old issue I reported on the user forum. I
tested for presence of the problem and it appears to be fixed.
Tim
Methodology used for testing for the bug. Ignore if irrelevant:
I removed the kludge of a panel restart startup item that masks the bug
effects and logged in again. I then repeatedly generated events in my
calendar to cause the notification area icon to display, connected to
different strength WiFi networks, launched & closed various apps with
notification tray icons. All of these would previously elicit notification
area artifacts from the bug. None of these actions elicit the bug artifact
anymore. As far as I can tell it's fixed.
