[Bug 1939425] Re: Power button does nothing after running initial update

 

The power option simply calls GNOME Session Shutdown

Since this works for most people - the issue must be more underlying -
so whatever GNOME Session calls - probably SystemD or the linux kernel.

As such please report the problem in the first instance against the
kernel - please note the above in your query.

Run in a terminal:

    ubuntu-bug linux

This will report properly with details of your system.

Bug description:
  The iso image and fresh install of Ubuntu Budgie power button does
  work (either for shutting down or sleeping) but after updates are
  applied this no longer works.

  
  even if the user selects to power down after pressing the power button (under the power options), this no longer works.
