See http://askubuntu.com/q/19486/6969 on adding a boot parameter. Use the
temporary
method as there are other ways to blacklist it permanently, i.e. creating a
file in
/etc/modprobe.d/ containing two lines:
blacklist nvidia-current
blacklist nvidia
