Thanks.
apparently I can run without root if the driver is nouveau.
nvidia without root crash and give the following error:
$ optirun glxgears
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl (Permission denied).
[VGL] WARNING: The OpenGL rendering context obtained on X display
[VGL] :8 is indirect, which may cause performance to suffer.
[VGL] If :8 is a local X display, then the framebuffer device
[VGL] permissions may be set incorrectly.
[VGL] ERROR: in readpixels--
[VGL] 256: GL_ARB_pixel_buffer_object extension not available
Now I can see a little performance:
Nvidia
$ sudo optirun glxgears
5239 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1047.724 FPS
5162 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1032.278 FPS
Nouveau
$ optirun glxgears
3411 frames in 5.0 seconds = 682.102 FPS
3123 frames in 5.0 seconds = 624.546 FPS
Thanks a lot
