Hi,

You set this value in preferences page in User id .email field - please
see the attached screenshot.
I found the initial value in Author field in Commit Dialog confusing and
removed it while reworking the Commit Dialog so that the field will now
be empty by default. The default value did not make much sense anyway as
it was taken from plugin preferences and hence  the same as the default
committer.
