I don't know if it would help, but the Windows installers are built
using lp:bzr-windows-installers
Which sets up a buildbot routine to download all of the relevant
packages, stage them into a build area, and run various build processes.
It won't be directly applicable to the mac installers (as the final
target is to run a '.bat' file), but you may consider adapting it to
your needs.
The nice part is that it bootstraps itself pretty well. It isn't 100%
perfect, but it is decent. And it would be nice to reduce duplication.
I wonder if we couldn't use the same 'buildout.cfg' to get you into a
working state, and then just change the build target from
'build_installer.bat' to something appropriate for Mac.
