The application menu is named "Python" but the menu itself is the Explorer
menu structure, so this is an aesthetic rather than functional anomoly!

Confirmed.

What do you mean by new frame? I find Explorer to be pretty smooth, no
significant slowdowns. I just installed the two QT frameworks extracted from
the QT installer and the rest came from the bazaar installer, I didn't use
Macports. Machine is a quad-core Mac Pro 6GB RAM.
