Re: Nicer Explorer toolbars on OS X

Ian,

I think I am going to report what Scott has already reported just in
different language. This is for Snow Leopard running 32-bit on 32-bit
hardware.

The icons under the window title start about 1mm tall on my system.
Also there is a thick grey bar as the footer of the window which matches
the window title in terms of size and colouring (except that it changes
grey level as the mouse moves in and out of the windows; tied with the
embluening or not of the various blue features of the window), but is
not traditional for Mac OS X windows.

Resizing the window resets the size of the icons to a reasonable size
and the words associated with them appear.

I now see that the space at the foot of the window is actually the
feedback bar giving textual information about the icons. Is the
traditional Mac OS X way of providing tool tips. If so that is sad I
much prefer the pop-ups on hover way of doing things -- less screen used
for normal usage.

New windows, such as the diff window for checking diffs between working
tree and repository still come up behind the main window.
