It may be working with 6.0 which has not been released yet, but my original request was regarding 5.x which most people are using in production.
Has this been fixed for 5.x then?

Status in OpenObject Addons Modules: Fix Released

Bug description:
Thunderbird 3.0 has been released last year and added a lot of needed features like the improved search functionnality.
Unfortunately, the thunderbird plugin doesn't work with the 3.x branch.

The plugin can connect to openerp-server 5.x, but that's it. The form is no working properly and it makes the plugin totally useless.

Also, it would be nice if this could be packaged like a normal addon (already unzipped).
