Bug description:
Using Version 6 trunk Rev .... 4981
Steps to reproduce

1) Fill in an Opportunity, without a partner, but with an email address filled in of the form, 'kelly joe <ktparts@xxxxxxxxx>'. This is how the email is usually prefilled when using Mailgate.
2) Click 'Create Partner', Then click 'Create new Partner' from the two options
3) Add Partner name, save
4) You get an error saying 

      ' The username portion of the email address is invalid (the portion before the @: kelly joe <ksparts3) '

This occurs identically for any email address that has a name associated with it brought in from Mailgate. I'm sure a plain email address on the type ktparts@xxxxxxxxx on its own would be saved fine, but this is not hopw the email is imported automatically from Mailgate.
