Thank you for your suggestion! However this is unfortunately out of the scope of the current OpenERP release, so we cannot implement it.
Let's close this bug for now, for the sake of clarity in Launchpad, it can always be reopened later when we consider new features for future roadmaps.

Bug description:
In the current trunk, when you double-click a o2m line, a popup window opens with 3 buttons at the bottom: "cancel", "save & exit", "save & new".
But "cancel" is very often used in forms, to managed object states. For example: cancel a stock move in a sale order (attached screenshot).
So "cancel" should really be renamed to "Discard changes" or something similar.
