After Investigation in the actual trunk client web Rev. 3884 I can
specify this bug more detailed:

Every stage, category name in the Configuration Section of the Sales
Module is named correctly in the chosen language. When I edit one of
these terms in the name field it is changed for the english version (not
very user friendly because the user can't recognize that he's not
changing in his locale).

When he knows he has to press the translation icon, the popup shows him
the english and the chosen locale version. But after changing the
translated term the value won't be taken to the Edit Screen - so he has
to translate this value manually as well to get it displayed correctly
in the List View of the Configuration Section.

When I'm editing values  in Sales -> Sales Teams -> Stages -> Names it changes the values for the English Version, but not the values for the chosen locale (German in my case) so the translated terms and not the modified values are shwon.
