[Bug 676471] Re: Option to add empty fields when exporting data

Hello Lionel,

I really don't think it would make sense to modify the export wizard in
this manner. This feature seems like it would be more related to an ETL
system, don't you think? The purpose of the export wizard is only to
export the content of your actual OpenERP records.

Note that there's an easy workaround for your case: define dummy custom
'char' fields like x_name2, etc. and don't show them in the views, only
use them as placeholders when you export data.

Thanks for your suggestion, though.

Status in OpenObject GTK Client: Won't Fix

Bug description:
In a future version of the client, it could be nice to be able to add empty fields in the list of fields to be exported.
This is useful when you have to produce a file in a format designed by a third party - for example if the carrier wants a file with name1, name2, name3, adress then we could define name1=name, name2=empty, name3=empty, address=address.
Lionel.
