Hello Maximilian,

Things have improved in this area in trunk (future 6.0), but such improvement cannot be done in stable versions.
Could you try with the latest version and see if your specific case is better handled?

Otherwise, please provide a traceback of the error or a minimalist
example to reproduce the error, so we know for sure which sort of
exception you are talking about (e.g. XML validation, view definitions,
python errors, etc.)

if installing a module fails due to some error, the error is not displayed to the user but only written to the log.
