but it's not very userfriendly

IMHO YYYYMMDD HHMISS should be used / accepted this allows much easier
data entry using the numbers only

BTW nice that YYYY-MM-DD works also for date time fields

  IMHO it must be possible to enter the date for filter using the same format as displayed
it returns "invalid value"
