  Client fails with date formats like dd.mm.yyyy (5.0)

Bug description:
  Hi!
5.0 latest bzr.
There are locales like Serbian that use dots as a date field separator (dd.mm.yyyy). The client doesn't properly parse these formats.
Example case: sales orders cannot be saved, the client behaves like no date was entered.
