Ana,

the product code is a property of product.product, not of
product.template. However, I see your point and I agree completely.

In the view where the Generate variants button is, there should be a
textbox to set the default code for the created variants and set the
code of the variants to that value and adding each dimension value
combination to each product variant.

  Hi:

Using product_variant_multi generate button on product template, all product variants are correctly generated, but all of them had empty the default_code field.

I think they should take template product code by default or something like default code + variant dimensions values.

Example:

Template code: PC1
Variant1 product code: PC1-1.5-black
Variant2 product code: PC1-1.6-black
