Hello Thorsten,

Here is the latest status for the various aspects of your bug
description and comments, because as xrg says, most of the issue are
already solved (as you can see in the attached screenshot, taken today):

- the issue with the menu tips (i.e. the "This report performs analysis...")  is fixed now and your translation appears correctly
- the issue with the various translations of web-client UI terms (such as 'Search: ...') was fixed a while ago too, but your translation of this term and a similar ones only made it in the po files with revision 4219, which took place only a little bit after this bug report: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp/openobject-client-web/trunk/revision/4219/addons/openerp/po/messages/de.po
- the only remaining issue is the fact the some menu items are not translated initially if you install a new non-english database, and this is why I'm not closing the bug yet. We are testing a fix for it, that will be released shortly. In the mean time, as you noticed there are several workarounds for this issue, to execute after installing all your modules:
  + run the "Synchronize translations" wizard
  + or force a manual update of the "base" module
  + or use the wizard to "Load an official translation" and reload the same language again

steps to reproduce:

Choose German/Deutsch as language on installation and configuration of OpenERP with
german i18n translation or better slide through the attached .zip with alle screenshots and
highlighted translation gaps.
