I just tried this on Openerp 6.0 RC2 and it failed also.  Used the same
steps.

  Openerp 6.0 RC1
Steps to reproduce the bug
1. Start openerp GKT client
2. go to menu File->Database->Backup Database
3. enter password and click ok
4. operation fails
