[Bug 701059] Re: VAT Verification for South Africa

Hi,
I'm the maintainer of the vatnumber [1] module from where the OpenERP validation code comes.
I checked your code and would like to integrate into vatnumber but when looking on the web how to validate VAT in South African, I only find this [2] which suggest that the format should be ((19|20)[\d]{2}/[\d]{6}/[\d]{2}). But It doesn't look like your own validation code.
Could you give some hit?

By the way, I think it is better to have fix in the upstream. So I would
prefer if OpenERP did not copy/paste the code but just use the library
because it will prevent this kind of spreading issue in many places.

Thanks.

  VAT Verification for South Africa

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This is not an actual bug, but I'n not sure where to submit this.

The current (RC2) code base does not cater for South African VAT
  numbers.

I've attached the modified base_vat file with the included same for
country code za and the validation.
