It works with standard PDF and ODT extensions, but if you want to define
your own extension, let's say ".abc", which you want to be opened in
some external application for example notepad. The mappings added by a
user do not work.

If you do not create such mapping, OpenERP's GTK client will propose
just to save the file.

Please examine my attached patch, as it applies fix on just one line it
is self explanatory!

  Feature controlled by "Options -> Extension manager" is not workable
