I probably have to check out a little bit more on this issue...
including testing with a GTK v6 installed on my windows computer

Currently, I am running the server on a Virtual Machine on Ubuntu 10.10
and I am connecting to it from my windows 7 using the web client (google
chrome).

My Excel version is in French so the separator should be " ; ":  when I
do the Excel export from the web client, it opens Excel presenting each
data row in only one cell, and this is probably due to the fact that the
separator sent by OpenERP is "," instead of ";"...

  [6.0.1] Data export - No more direct Excel export

Bug description:
  Hello,

  In v5, when using the "Export data", you had the possibility to choose
  "Open in Excel", and that was very useful in terms of useability.

  Now in V6 you don't have that possibility anymore, you can just save a
  CSV file that you have then to open with Excel... which mean more
  steps for the end-users...

  Is it planned to have that possibility again in V6 ?

  Note the issue is the same with web client...
