HI there

I unfortunately don't agree , its not the same bug ..

On either the GTk or the web client the database is backed up but the file 
size is 0 ZERO bits .. Thus you cant restore the database ..

On the bug you referring to you cant save the file because of a file 
permission error .

  Backup database function broken

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
  New

Bug description:
  On ver 6.0.1 on Ubuntu and other Linux distro's the backup database from the client or web-client 
  makes a 0 bit file with nothing in the file ..
  The server log states
   [2011-01-31 19:30:10,599][?] INFO:web-services:DUMP DB: newandimproved
  [2011-01-31 19:31:59,879][?] INFO:web-services:DUMP DB: newandimproved

  Also it can be reproduced on a full reinstall with no extra modules .
