[Bug 714641] Re: Changing a users email changes *ALL* users email.

 

Michael,

Changing the email is done by altering the email address of the address
that is linked to the user. This can only have the side-effect of
modifying all users' emails if and only if all your users are sharing
the same address, which is not a correct setup.

Note that before the official 6.0 release there used to be a bug with
duplication of users that could reuse the same address in the duplicated
user, and there was another issue with Admin and Demo users sharing the
same address.

If your database was created with a pre-6.0 version, you can fix the
situation by forcing your users to have different addresses. One way is
to clear the "Address" field of the users, then save them (this will
assign a new address), and possibly give them a new email afterwards.
