I observed the same behavior in the GTK client.

I also purchased the warranty yesterday and hope this will be resolved 
quickly so we can setup our production system.

Title:
  [6.0.1] Product catagory search not working correctly

Status in OpenERP Web Client:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I have a large number of product categories (270+) When trying to add
  a category in the product menu,  the behavior is different for each
  search function. The F2 search seems to only return the first 100
  categories and typing in part of the name returns some but not all of
  the options.

  So at the moment, I am not able to add categories at the end of the
  list.
