We have already integrated 15 charts of account in v6, we are working on other ones for a total of about 35 charts of account depending on different industries. The latest developments are here http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp-dev/openobject-addons/dsh-l10n_us/files/head:/l10n_us/
They are not yet merged in trunk so consider this is a work in progress until then.

Title:
  US Chart of Accounts not compatible with 6

Status in OpenERP - US Localization:
  New

Bug description:
  There are several US Localized Chart of Account modules available for
  version 5, however they are no longer compatible with 6.

  Here is a quick rundown of possible changes that will need to be made:

  - divide account_chart.xml into l10n_us_service_chart.xml and l10n_us_service_types.xml  
  - reorganize account_tax and tax_code - how?? (this is the least clear to me.  the blueprint you provided may somehow need to be integrated with this) 
  - rename files

  The goal is to make these US templates available again in 6 for the
  wizard.  There are about 4 or 5 of these already available for 5.  We
  would be glad to be of help.  It does not seem that this would be a
  terribly difficult undertaking.
