Switching from tree view to form view for o2m has been removed in V6.
If you have problem with this issue then this bug should goes to wishlist.

If anything else then please describe more.

Bug description:
  rev 4527
  in (editable?) o2m lists it is not possbile to switch to form -hence some data are not editable at all
  Example. Customer + base_contact installed 
  only fields in the list view are editable
