Hi,

I agree with Raphael, switched was a nice way to allow a kind of
"extended view" for tree items. Putting optional fields in the form view
and required in an editable tree view. But, why did you removed this
feature? Is there any specific reason ?

  in (editable?) o2m lists it is not possbile to switch to form -hence some data are not editable at all
  Example. Customer + base_contact installed 
  only fields in the list view are editable
