[Bug 726351] Re: (6.0.1) mrp.production - Starting production starts all operations, not just first one

I have a manufacturing order that has, for example, 3 operations - these
have been defined by a BOM attached to the product with a routing.

10 Engineering
20 Machining
30 Inspection

I set 'Confirm Production' - these 3 operations remain 'draft' status.
All is well at this point.

If I click 'Start Production' from the Manufacturing Order page, all 3 operations switch to 'in progress' state, instead of maybe just the first one (by sequence number)

If I go instead to Work Order list, and click start on just the first
operation, again, all 3 operations switch to in progress, instead of
just the one I clicked.

It's no big deal to hit Pause on the remaining 2 operations, but I could
have an operation list with 20 entries, and it would be cumbersome to
edit all of them to Pause state. Additionally, time is being
accumulated for all operations from the point they are set in progress,
which could mess up costing.

What I think would be more appropriate is having a new stage in the workflow of these operations:

Order created - > Operations in 'draft' state
Confirm Production - > Operations in 'confirmed' state (this would help planners to see that this order is 'go'
Start production -> First operation only is set to running state.
Individual operation 'started' from Work Order list - > that operation placed in running state.

Hopefully this clarifies a bit.

Mike

Title:
(6.0.1) mrp.production - Starting production starts all operations,
  not just first one

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Attempting to implement OpenERP in a job shop environment -

Confirm production - all operations remain in 'draft' state
Start production - all operations are IN PROGRESS - requires me to pause each one (the operator will later start/stop as work progresses)

This also occurs if I've 'Confirmed production' then click to start
the first operation individually - they ALL start (i'm guessing
starting one triggers the Manufacturing order-wide 'start production'
  procedure.

Is this working as intended? Or perhaps I'm doing-it-wrong.

  Serving openerp from Ubuntu 10.10
Installed openerp-server and -web from source

Accessing from a Windows 7 client.

This occurs with both the web client (Firefox) and the GTK client.
