I am also very interessted how and when this would be fixed! Makes Mass
Mailing and unsing the mail gateway in combination with opportunities
nearly useless.

Another observation:
i can attach a file with the gtk client but only if i create a new attachment - i can not search any existing files - the list stays alway empty - even for the administrator?!? (i did empty the search filter and press search agaein but still no files in the list?!?)

  CRM send mail attachment doesn't save/send file

Status in OpenERP Web Client:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  In 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 trunk

  What is Observed :- Using OpenERP webclient, you cannot select files to attach to a mail to be sent as part of an Opportunity.
  What should happen :- Choose file, press Save & close which saves the file and closes the dialog box.

  Steps To Reproduce :-

  1) Go to Opportunities, then Communication & History on an Opportunity
  2) Select 'Send New Mail',
  3) Click Attachments
  4) Click New button to bring up file chooser dialog
  5) Browse to file, and select 'Save & Close'
  6) 'Throbber' shows 'Loading', but this never completes, ie the file is never saved, nor the dialog box is closed.

  So the file can't be attached to mail to send. This is the case with
  Firefox 3/4 on Linux and FF 3 on Windows

  If you use the Save & New button, it does save the file, and then you
  can cancel the operation, but this is all far too messy.
