Both crm_lead and crm_helpdesk have date_action_last.
This field is only use by base_action_rule to notify when the last automatic action was trigger on this object. 
The purpose of this field is not to track incoming mail.

Write date track all the change made on the object, but apparently it
doesn't change when a new mail come from the mailgate.

What we can do is update the write_date when an incoming mail arrive,
and then add a filter on write date

Bug description:
  currently the butons filter (only) on (incoming) date, 
  incoming answers do not update this field ( i do not know if it should)
  hence incoming answers are NOT classified and not searchable with Today / 7 Days buttons nor even  with a filter 

  IMHO the existing  field date_action_last should be filled and  used
  for filtering, but is empty (since feb 2010 when I moved to v5 ??)
