I have checked your issue with latest stable-6 and trunk , it is working correctly  as per i set as default value 
i have attached  video for your reference so please check it with latest code and notify us where you face the problem.

  Cannot 'set as default' Warehouse field in PO

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I try to 'set as default some fields like warehouse in PO or Language
  in partners and even if the information is correctly stored in
  ir.values, the form does not take into account the defaulted values
